For Zambians in Italy
The Embassy is a home away from home for the Zambian community living, studying and working in Italy — offering consular protection, registration with the Mission, and a direct point of contact for advice and assistance.

Community Support and Engagement
The Embassy recognises the Zambian community in Italy as an important part of the country's extended family, in line with the Government's recognition of the diaspora as a key partner in national development.
The Mission encourages Zambians living in Italy to register with the Embassy, participate in community events, and share their expertise and networks in support of Zambia's development agenda.
Registration and Updates
Zambian nationals residing in Italy are encouraged to complete consular registration with the Embassy. Keeping your contact details up to date helps us communicate effectively, especially in emergencies.
Consular Protection and Assistance
Lost or stolen documents
Assistance with travel documents and emergency certificates.
Emergencies
Support in cases such as accidents, arrests or deaths, within the limits of consular assistance.
Working with local authorities
The Embassy cooperates with Italian authorities while respecting the limits of consular help.
Repatriation of remains
Guidance and authorisation for transporting the remains of deceased Zambian nationals home.
Dual Citizenship
Since the 2016 constitutional amendment, Zambia permits dual citizenship: citizens no longer lose their Zambian nationality when they acquire the citizenship of another country, and citizenship lost before 2016 can be restored.
Citizens who take up foreign citizenship should notify Zambia's Citizenship Board, and applications are usually completed with an in-person consular interview. Contact the Consular Section for the current forms and procedure.
Diaspora Opportunities
The Embassy shares information on investment opportunities in Zambia for citizens living abroad, as well as programmes, initiatives and events tailored to the diaspora — including diaspora policy and investment forums.
